LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's basketball fifth-year senior Royce Hamm Jr. was named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.
Hamm Jr., a product of Houston, Texas, played a key role in the Rebels' 84-71 win over Omaha last Wednesday (Dec. 15) to push their winning streak to three games. The Scarlet and Gray's 6-9 forward posted his third career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds while shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor vs. the Mavericks. He also added six made free throws, one steal and an assist in 27 minutes played.
