Runnin' Rebels Drop Regular-Season Finale At Wyoming

Bryce Hamilton led UNLV with 17 points in 80-69 loss Saturday night in Laramie.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team dropped its regular-season finale at Wyoming, 80-69, Saturday night at Arena-Auditorium.

Wyoming (13-10, 7-9) had four players score in double figures, led by Ike Graham's 17 points on 8 of 10 shooting.

Bryce Hamilton led three UNLV (11-14, 8-10) players in double-figure scoring with 17 points.

STAT OF THE GAME: Both teams shot over 50 percent from the field, but the Cowboys made 10 3-pointers to just three for the Runnin' Rebels.

TURNING POINT: Wyoming used a 15-2 run early in the second half to take a 20-point lead (58-38) with 13 minutes to go. UNLV would get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way.

QUOTABLE: "We knew with how Wyoming spaces the floor offensively that we were going to have to do a great job not only guarding the dribble one-on-one, but also guarding the post one-on-one and then contesting the 3-point line. That's what we emphasized the last three days, that's what we worked on, and we didn't do a very good job with it tonight. They had everything going from the start. They had Graham Ike in the post and they started 4 for 5 from 3-point range and we were never able to string together enough stops to give ourselves a chance tonight." - UNLV head coach T.J. Otzelberger

NOTES:
