Veronica Joels, Elina Saksa and Madeleine Laux will compete as individuals at UNM's Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, April 11-12
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -Â The UNLV women's golf team will send three individual representatives - junior Veronica Joels, sophomore Elina Saksa and freshman Madeleine Laux - to compete in New Mexico's 42nd Annual Dick McGuire/Branch Law Firm Invitational Sunday, April 11 and Monday, April 12 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The two-day 54-hole tournament will take place on a Par 72, 6,317 yard course at UNM's Championship Golf Course with two rounds on Sunday and the final round on Monday. Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m. MT both days.
Joels is coming off her best single-round performance of the spring after carding a 3-under 69 in the final round of last week's Silverado Showdown, finishing the event in a tie for 17th. Saksa finished the tournament in Napa in a tie for 26th at 9-over, while Laux tied for 44th at 14-over.
The tournament will mark the final regular season event of the spring for UNLVÂ as the Rebels will head to Rancho Mirage, California, April 20-21, for the 2021 Mountain West Championship.
THE FIELD:Â The 2021 Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational will feature the following teams: Arizona, Colorado State, Denver, Grand Canyon, Kansas State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Pepperdine, Washington and Wyoming.
