LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Cheer captured its third straight Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) National Championship on Tuesday after finishing first in the All-Girl D1A Game Day Division. The squad also was the runner-up in the All-Girl D1A category, marking its best finish in program history.



The team successfully competed in both routines during the shortened season -- a period of just four weeks. The team consists of seven seniors, seven juniors, eight sophomore and 10 freshmen. 

Head Coach Alex White remarked that this year's national championship means just as much to the program, if not more than previous years, considering the challenging times that everyone has gone through during the pandemic.

"I am so proud of this team," White said. "We didn't have an entire year to prepare, only have four short, hard weeks of training. But we came out on top and their dedication and heart proved that anything is possible. We are all extremely grateful for the support of our university, alumni and all of our dedicated fans."
