MONTEREY, CA (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team is back in action this week, heading to the Northern California coast to compete in The Molly Collegiate Invite, hosted by California, at the Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside, California. The two-day 54-hole tournament will take place on the Par-72 6,218-yard Bayonet and Blackhorse courses with two rounds played on Monday and the final round Tuesday.
UNLV finished its first event of the year in 12th at New Mexico's Dick McGuire Invitational, playing with a young squad that featured three freshmen, two sophomores and a junior - with only the two sophomores,
Gracie Olkowski and
Madeleine Laux, being returners from last year. Junior transfer
Nicole Lorup was the top Rebel performer, finishing in a tie for sixth after carding a 2-under 214.
After The Molly, the Rebels will have a couple weeks off until they travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Dale McNamara Invitational October 11-12.
THE FIELD: The 2021 The Molly Collegiate Invite field includes host California, UCLA, New Mexico, Stanford, Oregon State, San Jose State, Nebraska, UNR, UC Davis, Cal Poly, UNLV, San Francisco, Fresno State, Sacramento State and Cal State Monterey Bay.
