Rebels Extend Unbeaten Streak To Season-Best Three Games Vs. Air Force

UNLV secures its second straight draw in a 1-1 decision against the Falcons

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's soccer (4-9-5, 2-3-5) extended its unbeaten streak to a season-best three games with a second straight 1-1 draw vs. Air Force (6-7-4, 3-4-3) Sunday at Peter Johann Memorial Field.

Freshman Savannah Nichols scored the game's first goal in the 77th minute after dribbling herself open just inside the right center of the box. It marked Nichols' second goal of the year and pushed her point streak to three games.

The Rebels reeled off a season-high-tying 11 shots on goal, which was their highest shots-on-target total during Mountain West play this season. In spite of the Scarlet & Gray coming out on top in the shots-on-goal battle, 11-5, the Falcons avoided defeat after striking with the equalizer in the 80th minute.

UP NEXT: UNLV will close out the regular season by hosting a rivalry match vs. UNR on Senior Day at Peter Johann Memorial Field on Thursday at 7 p.m. The UNLV Soccer Foundation will be hosting a tailgate with free food and drinks prior to the match.

2022 TICKETS: Single-game tickets are $6 per adult when purchased in advance of game day, $10 at the door the day of the match and free for kids in high school or younger.

News & Notes:
  • With wins by Colorado College, Boise State and Wyoming on Sunday, the Rebels are eliminated from contention for a Mountain West Tournament berth.
  • The outcome against Air Force helps UNLV escape with a win or tie for the fifth time in the last six games.
