LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -- The UNLV women's tennis team completed day two of the Watanabe Classic on Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

Joining UNLV in the lineup are competitors from Oregon, Iowa, Utah, Long Beach State and San Diego State.

Junior Salsa Aher will play in the final for Flight Three of singles after defeating Justine Dondonay of Long Beach State, 6-2, 7-5. In Flight Four, sophomore Coco Zhao advanced by taking down Hana Becirovic Novak of LBSU, 6-2, 6-7, 6-2.

In doubles, Molly Helgesson and Zita Kovacs will play in the Flight One final after downing Peppi Ramstedt and Justine Dondonay of LBSU, 7-6. Cindy Hu and Coco Zhao knocked off Anya Lamoreaux and Pia Kranholdt of Iowa, 6-3, to move on in Flight Two.

Final action takes place Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. All matches are free of charge.

The annual fall invitational was renamed last year to honor former tennis great Jolene Watanabe, who put the UNLV women's program on the map three decades ago and passed away in 2019 after a battle with cancer at the age of 50.
