PROVO, Utah (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV's
Nikol Mircheva advanced all the way to the semifinals of the ITA Mountain Regional on Friday but that is where her road ended playing on the campus of BYU.
Mircheva, seeded ninth, downed defending Mountain West Player of the Year and fourth-seed Amahee Charier of UNR in the morning quarterfinals when the Wolf Pack player retired with an injury after splitting sets.
The Rebel rep then faced Denver's Louise Wikander, seeded eighth, in the afternoon semifinals and fell, 6-4, 6-1, to close out UNLV's run at the annual event.
