LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team will make its first-ever trip to the state of Alabama after landing in the Auburn Regional of the 2027 ITA Kickoff Weekend.
 
The Rebels, who won the 2026 Mountain West regular-season championship and finished last season ranked 71st nationally, were part of Wednesday's draft to determine the overall field and are the fourth seed at the annual event.
 
UNLV will open its season by playing top-seeded and No. 2-ranked host Auburn from the SEC on Jan. 22, 2027. The other match will see No. 45 Houston face No. 58 Old Dominion. The event guarantees teams two matches apiece, with the winners advancing to face each other and losers also meeting on Saturday in the consolation bracket.
 
ITA Kickoff Weekend is used to qualify teams for the ITA Indoor National Champions and features 56 of the nation's best teams in 14, four-team sites.
