LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Rebel Football and the UNLV Food Pantry are teaming up to collect non-perishable food items to help local families in need this Thanksgiving.
"One in seven people in Southern Nevada experience food insecurity and may not know where their next meal will come from," said UNLV head coach Marcus Arroyo. "We would like to do what we can to help provide for those in need, especially before the Thanksgiving holiday."
Fans are encouraged to bring items to Allegiant Stadium for the Rebels' game against Fresno State on Friday night. Drop-off bins will be located in Lot C, as well as at the North and Southwest entrances of the stadium.
The first 100 fans to drop donations of non-perishable items in Lot C will receive a $10 gift card that can be used towards Rebel gear at Raider Image merchandise locations.
Fans can also drop off their donations outside the front of the Fertitta Football Complex on campus now through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets to Friday night's game are on sale by visiting UNLVtickets.com or calling (702) 739-FANS. Kickoff vs. the Bulldogs is set for 7:30 p.m.
