Rebels Come Out Of Game Two Victorious Over SDSU

SAN DIEGO (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV baseball team took the win over SDSU during the second game of the three-game conference opening series, 4-3, Saturday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium in San Diego, California. 

The Rebels saw their record improve to 8-7 (2-0 MW), while the Aztecs dropped to 4-10 (0-2 MW).

REBEL OF THE GAME: Conner Woods (1-0) pitched 4.0 innings of relief for the Rebels with four strikeouts and no runs or hits allowed. 

TURNING POINT: The Scarlet & Gray trailed 3-2 at the end of the seventh frame, only for an RBI double from Austin Kryszczuk in the top of the eighth, that drove in Santino Panaro and Rylan Charles, to put the Rebels in the lead. 

Connor Woods (1-0) earned his first win of the season after four strikeouts and not giving up any runs or hits during his 4.0 innings of relief. 

Jaden Bercovich (1-1) was saddled with the loss after going 2.0 frames of relief, allowing two runs off of three hits and only striking out four. 

UP NEXT: UNLV will close out the three-game conference opening series against SDSU at Tony Gwynn Stadium Sunday at 1 p.m.
