LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV baseball team secured a series win over Cal Poly after winning the deciding game Sunday, 15-3, at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
The Scarlet & Gray improved their record to 6-5, while the Mustangs dropped to 5-6.
REBEL OF THE GAME: Edarian Williams went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs and five RBIs for the Rebels. Williams was one double shy of the cycle.
TURNING POINT: The Rebels took the lead in the bottom of the third frame with four runs off of five hits and one error to put them at a four-run lead, 6-2. By the bottom of the sixth, the Scarlet & Gray increased the lead to 12-2, after a homer from Williams.
Noah Mattera (2-0) secured the win after going 7.0 innings, only allowing three runs off of seven hits.
Kaden Sheedy (1-1) was saddled with the loss after pitching 2.0 innings and allowing six runs off of seven hits.
UP NEXT: UNLV will take on Utah Valley for a two-game home series beginning Monday at 6:05 p.m.
