LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV baseball team dropped the two-game home series against Utah Valley after falling short during the final game of the series, 12-9, Tuesday afternoon at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
The Rebels saw their record drop to 6-7, while the Wolverines improved to 5-8.
The all-time series record between both programs is now tied 2-2.
REBEL OF THE GAME: Hayden Nierman pitched 1.0 innings of relief for the Rebels with two strikeouts and not allowing any runs or hits. Â
TURNING POINT: The Wolverines came into the top of fourth with a three-run lead over the Scarlet & Gray, only to grab four more runs off of four hits to secure the lead 10-3.Â
Coop Rust (1-1) secured his first win of the season after pitching 1.2 innings of relief, allowing only one run off of one hit.Â
Brian Uribe (0-1) was saddled with his first loss of the season after pitching 0.1 innings, allowing six runs off of seven hits and only one strikeout.Â
UP NEXT: UNLV will hit the road for the first three-game conference series against SDSU, beginning 6 p.m. Friday at Tony Gwynn Stadium.Â
