LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV baseball team will close out their 13-game homestand, Friday, with a three-game conference series against New Mexico. First pitch is slated for 6:05 p.m.
The Rebels (26-12, 15-3 MW) are coming into this weekend's contest 4-2, after sweeping San Jose State last weekend (13-12, 13-7, 12-11) and splitting a two-game series against Loyola Marymount earlier this week (12-16, 21-11 (7 inn.)) at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The Lobos (15-21, 6-12 MW) are coming into this weekend's series 1-3, dropping a three-game series to SDSU last weekend (3-10, 13-14, 8-11 (8 inn.)), and winning against #9 Texas Tech (11-10) Tuesday evening.
PREVIOUSLY THIS SEASON
UNLV swept New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M., during their three-game series April 1-3 (18-3, 12-4, 27-6). The Scarlet & Gray still own the lead in the all-time head-to-head series, notching 99 wins to 83 losses.

REBELS CLAIM WEEKLY AWARDS
- Gianni Horvat received the first weekly award for the Rebels, being named the MW Freshman of the Week following the Rebels' perfect weekend on the road (3-0) in San Diego February 28.
- Edarian Williams continued the weekly honors streak, earning MW Player of the Week, March 7.
- Conner Woods claimed pitcher of the week, March 14 after he picked up his first win of the season in a 4-3 victory over SDSU.
- Santino Panaro claimed Freshman of the Week, March 14, 28 and April 4 after helping the Rebels to a 4-0 week, including a series sweep over New Mexico.
- Braden Murphy earned Freshman of the Week weekly honors after helping the Rebels to a sweep over Air Force, March 21.
- Diego Alarcon earned Player of the Week weekly honors on March 28 after helping the Rebels to a 3-1 week, including a series win over MW foes San Jose State.
- Joey Walls earned Player of the Week and Joey Walls was named NCBWA Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the week, April 4, after helping the Rebels to a 4-0 week. The junior batted a .706 over the week with 12 hits, including three home runs, 13 RBIs, 11 runs scored and three walks.
LEADERS IN THE MW AND THE NATION
-UNLV currently leads the nation in hits with 490, 33 more hits than Rutgers who ranks second (457), they also lead in doubles with 113, 14 more than Texas Tech who sits second (99), first for doubles per game (2.97) and batting average (.341), first in scoring (10.0) and in runs (380), fourth in slugging percentage (.561), 13th in triples (15) and tied for 17th in home runs (58)
- UNLV currently stands atop the conference with a 15-3 conference record. This is the best start in conference play in program history.
- The Rebels currently lead the conference in batting with a .341 average, 380 runs scored, 490 hits and 350 RBI.
- Henry Ziesler ranks fourth in the nation and leads the MW in on base percentage (.534), sits fifth in the nation and leads the MW in batting average (.424), sits 16th and leads the MW in slugging percentage (.763), leads the MW in OPS (1.310), tied for second in triples (3), third in RBI (49) and second in hits (58).
- Joey Walls ranks first in the nation and leads the MW in doubles (21), sits 30th in the nation and sits second in the MW for batting average (.394), 31st in the nation and second in the MW for slugging percentage (.727), tied for fourth in the MW for RBI (40) and runs scored (45) and second in the conference in OPS (1.202).
- Rylan Charles ranks third in the nation and first in the MW for hits with 64, ranks 17th in the nation and is tied for second in the conference in sacrifice flies with 5, first in at bats (170), tied for fourth in doubles (14) and runs scored (45).
- Kryszczuk ranks sixth nationally and third in the MW for doubles (17), is tied for second in triples (3), tied for fourth in RBI (40), second in walks (29), tied for third in hits (57) and fourth in at bats (153).
- Edarian Williams ranks seventh in the nation and ranks second in the conference in RBI (50), tied for second in the conference in triples (3), fourth in walks (25), third in at bats (156) and ranks ninth in OPS (1.017).
- Diego Alarcon leads the nation and the MW in runs scored with 58, tied for second in at bats (163), fifth in RBI (39), and tied for fifth in doubles (13).
PURCHASE TICKETS
Single-game ticket prices this season are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, faculty and staff, and $5 to groups of 15 or more. Fans that purchase tickets online before game day can get them for an advanced single-game price of $6.
All high school, middle school and elementary students are free under UNLV's new admission policy. To receive free admission, high school students must present valid Nevada are school I.D. at the box office on gameday for one (1) complimentary ticket. Current UNLV students will receive free admission with a valid school I.D. All other students will receive a complimentary ticket at the box office (no I.D. required). Kids not yet elementary school age will continue to receive free admission for all UNLV Olympic sports.
