Rebels Drop First Game To Wolf Pack

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV baseball team dropped the first game of a three-game series to the Wolf Pack, 9-7 (10 inn.), Friday night at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. 

The Rebels saw their record drop to 20-10 (11-2 MW), while the Wolf Pack improved to 15-13 (8-4 MW).

REBEL OF THE GAME: Josh Ibarra pitched 6.1 innings, allowing only three runs on six hits and had nine strikeouts for the Rebels. 

TURNING POINTS: The ballgame was tied 7-7 going into the top of the 10th frame, only for the Wolf Pack to score two runs on four hits to pull ahead. 

Tyler Cochran (2-1) earned the win after pitching 3.0 innings of relief, allowing six runs on eight hits and three punchouts.

Nick Rupp (3-1) was saddled with his first loss of the season after pitching 1 frame of relief, allowing two runs on four hits and three strikeouts. 

UP NEXT: UNLV will continue the three-game conference series against UNR Saturday at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.

GAME NOTES
- The Rebels have only gone extra innings during one other game this season, during the matchup against Cal Poly on March 4 (W, 7-6). 
- UNLV currently leads the nation in hits with 364 and sits second in batting average with .334.

PURCHASE TICKETS
Single-game ticket prices this season are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, faculty and staff, and $5 to groups of 15 or more. Fans that purchase tickets online before game day can get them for an advanced single-game price of $6. 

All high school, middle school and elementary students are free under UNLV's new admission policy. To receive free admission, high school students must present valid Nevada are school I.D. at the box office on gameday for one (1) complimentary ticket. Current UNLV students will receive free admission with a valid school I.D. All other students will receive a complimentary ticket at the box office (no I.D. required). Kids not yet elementary school age will continue to receive free admission for all UNLV Olympic sports.
