Rebels Back At Home This Week

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV baseball team returns to Las Vegas and Earl E. Wilson for a single-game contest against California Baptist Tuesday. First pitch is slated for 2:05 p.m.

The Rebels (29-16, 17-7 MW) are coming into this week's affair after going 1-3 this last week, taking the win over ASU Tuesday, 9-1, but got swept at Air Force over the weekend (20-3, 17-10, 14-4). The Lancers (26-14, 12-9 WAC) are coming into Tuesday's affair after going 2-1 over the weekend against Sacramento State (L 2-1, W 6-2, L 7-4).

PREVIOUSLY THIS SEASON 
UNLV and California Baptist squared off earlier this season in Riverside, Calif., March 14, where the Lancers handed the Rebels their first loss on the road, 10-7.

ON DECK
UNLV will hit the road to Dixie State for a single-game contest against the Trailblazers Wednesday, first pitch is slated for 5:05 p.m. 

The Scarlet and Gray will return to the Las Vegas Ballpark in downtown Summerlin for a three-game series against Hawaii, May 6-8. 

REBELS CLAIM WEEKLY AWARD
- Gianni Horvat received the first weekly award for the Rebels, being named the MW Freshman of the Week following the Rebels' perfect weekend on the road (3-0) in San Diego February 28. 
- Edarian Williams continued the weekly honors streak, earning MW Player of the Week, March 7.
- Conner Woods claimed pitcher of the week, March 14 after he picked up his first win of the season in a 4-3 victory over SDSU. 
- Santino Panaro claimed Freshman of the Week, March 14, 28 and April 4 after helping the Rebels to a 4-0 week, including a series sweep over New Mexico.  
- Braden Murphy earned Freshman of the Week weekly honors after helping the Rebels to a sweep over Air Force, March 21. 
- Diego Alarcon earned Player of the Week weekly honors on March 28 after helping the Rebels to a 3-1 week, including a series win over MW foes San Jose State. 
- Joey Walls earned Player of the Week weekly honors, April 4, after helping the Rebels to a 4-0 week. The junior batted a .706 over the week with 12 hits, including three home runs, 13 RBIs, 11 runs scored and three walks. 

LEADERS IN THE MW AND THE NATION
-UNLV currently leads the nation in hits with 577, 46 more hits than Georgia Tech who ranks second (431), they also lead in doubles with 127, eight more than #9 Texas Tech who sits second (119), first for doubles per game (2.82), batting average (.338), scoring (9.7) and runs (438), fourth in on base percentage (.427), seventh in slugging percentage (.542) and 15th in triples (18).
- UNLV currently stands atop the conference with a 17-7 conference record, a four-game lead over UNR (13-8). This is the best start in conference play in program history.
- The Rebels currently lead the conference in batting with a .338 average, 438 runs scored, 577 hits and 403 RBI. 
- Henry Ziesler ranks 16th in the nation and leads the MW in batting average (.410), tied for 18th in the nation and tied for third in the conference in hits (68), sits 44th in the nation and first in the MW for slugging percentage (.699), first in MW for OPS (1.272), tied for second in triples (3), and is tied for 10th in the nation and tied for first in the conference in RBI (57),
- Joey Walls leads the nation and the MW in doubles (23), sits ninth in the MW for batting average (.361), first in the nation and in the MW for doubles (22), third in the MW for slugging percentage (.671), tied for sixth in the MW for RBI (44) and third in the conference for OPS (1.124). Walls was also named to the 2022 Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger of the Year watch list on April 21. 
- Rylan Charles leads the NCAA and the MW for hits with 80, ranks 37th in the nation and fourth in the MW for batting average (.390), ranks 27th in the nation and is tied for second in the conference in sacrifice flies with 5, first in at bats (205), tied for fourth in doubles (16) and fourth in runs scored (53).
- Kryszczuk leads the nation and MW in runs (65), ranks sixth nationally and tied for third in the MW for doubles (19), is tied for third in triples (3), second in walks (33), tied for 18th in the nation and tied for third in the conference in hits (68) and fifth in conference for at bats (186).
- Edarian Williams is tied for 10th in the nation and tied for first in the conference in RBI (57), tied for first in the conference in triples (5), fourth in walks (28) and tied for eighth in runs scored (44).
- Diego Alarcon is second in the nation and the MW in runs scored with 64, tied for 18th in the nation and tied for third in the conference in hits (68), second in at bats (195) and fifth in doubles (15). 

PURCHASE TICKETS
Single-game ticket prices this season are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, faculty and staff, and $5 to groups of 15 or more. Fans that purchase tickets online before game day can get them for an advanced single-game price of $6. 

All high school, middle school and elementary students are free under UNLV's new admission policy. To receive free admission, high school students must present valid Nevada are school I.D. at the box office on gameday for one (1) complimentary ticket. Current UNLV students will receive free admission with a valid school I.D. All other students will receive a complimentary ticket at the box office (no I.D. required). Kids not yet elementary school age will continue to receive free admission for all UNLV Olympic sports.
