LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — UNLV women's basketball has received a signed commitment from graduate transfer Ashley Scoggin, head coach Lindy La Rocque announced today.

Scoggin, a 5-foot-7 guard from Dallas, Ore., will be eligible to play starting with the 2022-23 season. Scoggin started 51 consecutive games in two seasons at Nebraska before graduating with a bachelor's degree in May. Scoggin averaged 8.5 points and 40 percent 3-point shooting in two seasons with the Cornhuskers. 

"We're pumped to add Ashley to our Lady Rebels sisterhood," La Rocque said. "She is a dynamic combo guard with a ton of on-court experience playing in the Big Ten Conference for two seasons. She will bring another level of competitiveness and intensity to our team. 

"Ashley can really stretch the floor with her 3-point shot and also gives us another option at point guard. She is eager to learn, win and be around great people!"

Scoggin totaled 431 points, 96 rebounds and 98 assists while knocking down 98 3-pointers at Nebraska. Her 3-point percentage ranked seventh-highest in Husker history. Scoggin scored a career-high 20 points from six 3s and had four steals against No. 17 Maryland in February 2022. She scored six points and hit both of her 3-point attempts in Nebraska's 72-55 win over No. 5 Indiana in the final game of her Nebraska career. 

ACL tears in each knee delayed the 24-year-old's college enrollment and her initial playing season.

The sharpshooter was considered one of the top 10 junior college transfers of the 2020-21 season, having earned both NJCAA All-Region and Region All-Tournament Team honors while at Salt Lake City Community College.  At Nebraska, her accolades included selection to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Rolls in her first year and being named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
