LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball team (5-1) suffered its first loss of the season to Miami-FL (6-0) Sunday morning at Cox Pavilion during the final match of the Rebel Challenge.
In a thrilling five-set contest, the Scarlet & Gray took the first two sets by scores of 27-25 and 25-23, before falling to Miami for the next three 25-21, 25-19 and 15-10.
Junior Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos and redshirt-junior Isabel Martin paced the Scarlet & Gray with 14 kills, each. The Rebels were led by double-digit outings from Jhenna Gabriel's 42 assists and freshman Maya Sands's 16 digs.
The hitting contest went to the Hurricanes as it outhit UNLV .272 to .218. Chloe Thomas's .226 hitting percentage and Arretche-Ramos's .175 hitting percentage made the Rebel duo the squad's leaders in attack efficiency.

UP NEXT: The Rebels will hit the road again this weekend for the Kansas Invitational with bouts against No. 20 Kansas and Wichita State University. The two-day tournament features two matches day one, with the Scarlet & Gray playing Thursday against Wichita State (10 a.m. (PT)), followed by KU and Wichita State (4:30 p.m. (PT)) and one match on Friday versus KU (4:30 p.m. (PT)).

Single-game ticket prices this season are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, faculty and staff, and $5 to groups of 15 or more. Fans that purchase tickets online before game day can get them for an advanced single-game price of $6.
All high school, middle school and elementary students are free under UNLV's new admission policy. To receive free admission, high school students must present valid Nevada are school I.D. at the box office on gameday for one (1) complimentary ticket. Current UNLV students will receive free admission with a valid school I.D. All other students will receive a complimentary ticket at the box office (no I.D. required). Kids not yet elementary school age will continue to receive free admission for all UNLV Olympic sports.

- UNLV returned eight letterwinners this season.
- Also returning to the squad from last season were Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos, Arien Fafard, Jordyn Freeman, Chloe Thomas, Isha Knight, Keyana Cruse, Dakota Quinlan, Livvy Setla, Isabel Martin and Thea Sweder. There are eight newcomers, which include three freshmen, a trio of transfers and a pair of graduate transfers.
- UNLV is led by fifth-year head coach Dawn Sullivan, who looks to guide her squad to the postseason for the fifth straight season.
