LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV wide receiver
Ricky White III (Marietta GA/Marietta HS) has been named Second Team All-American by College Football Network while offensive lineman
Amani Trigg-Wright (Oakland, CA/McClymonds HS) and kicker
Jose Pizano (Lehi UT/Lehi HS) earned Honorable Mention, the outlet announced Monday.
White, a junior who currently stands fourth in the nation with 1,386 receiving yards on 81 catches, set a school record by reaching the 100-yard mark in five straight games this fall while helping UNLV to its most wins since 1984. The First Team All-Mountain West receiver and CFN MW Offensive Player of the Year has seven touchdown grabs and his receiving total broke the school's single-season record that was set in 1981.
Pizano, a senior, is one of three finalists in the running for the Lou Groza Award and has smashed multiple records this fall, including most field goals in a season by a Rebel by making 25-of-27 attempts. The Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Year hit 19 in a row at one point, which is the most ever in one season by a MW kicker. He stands sixth in the nation among all players with 126 points scored, which is third in league history by a kicker.
Trigg-Wright, a senior who was named CFN First Team All-MW, has started all 13 games at right guard this fall and helped the Rebels post 37 rushing touchdowns, which ranks second in the nation and is just one short of the school record set way back in 1974. The Rebel offense, which is the highest scoring in the Mountain West with 34 points per game, also ranked 34th nationally in fewest sacks allowed per game.
The Rebels (9-4) are preparing to play Kansas in the 2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl in Phoenix on December 26. Ticket information is available at
