SEATTLE (UNLVRebels.com) – Playing indoors for the first time this season, the UNLV men's tennis team saw its six-match win streak snapped, 4-1, by Portland in a neutral-site match played at the Nordstrom Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Washington.
The Rebels fell to 6-2 while the Pilots improved to 3-3.
Portland quickly won two doubles matches to earn a 1-0 lead.
Moving to singles play, the Rebels tied things up when
Maxim Verboven upset 72nd-ranked Sema Pankin, 6-2, 6-2, at the top of the lineup. Four of the remaining five matches split sets but the Pilots won the first two that were completed to clinch the overall win.
