LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV football head coach Barry Odom announced another addition to his initial signing class on Tuesday as junior college offensive lineman Michael Bareman has signed on to join the Rebels in time for next season.
Bareman is a 6-foot-7, 325-pound blocker out of Lynden, Washington, who just completed his second year at Butte College in Chico, California. He only played football during his senior season of football at Lynden High School where he also competed in basketball, soccer and volleyball. Following a gap year, Bareman joined Butte head coach Robby Snelling's program and redshirted his freshman season in 2021 before becoming the Roadrunners' starting left tackle last fall.
Bareman helped lead a Butte offense that ranked second in the NorCal Conference in rushing yards (1,756), passing yards (2,302) and yards per game (368.9). A Butte College Athletics Scholar-Athlete the last two semesters, Bareman earned National NorCal honors on the field in 2022. With three seasons of eligibility remaining, he chose UNLV over offers from Colorado State, Buffalo and Middle Tennessee State.
The latest addition puts the Class of 2023 at 26: seven FBS transfers, five junior college transfers and 14 high school players.
The overall class' position breakdown sees 13 offensive players, 10 on defense, one on special teams, one athlete with a position to be determined, and one lineman also still to be determined: 5 DB, 5 OL, 3 WR, 3 LB, 2 RB, 2 TE, 2 DL, 1 QB, 1 PK, 1 OL/DL and 1 ATH.
The 26-player group consists of student-athletes whose hometowns are spread among 14 states and one Canadian province: seven are from California, two from Texas, Georgia, Colorado, Utah and Missouri, while one each is from Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Hawai'i and the unusual Rebel territories of Oklahoma, Nebraska, North Carolina, Arkansas and Ontario.
Now through March 31, 2023, renewal pricing, which starts at $125 per season ticket, is available and includes the option of using payment plans until the deadline. New football season tickets are also on sale now. The six-game slate includes dates with Hawai'i, Colorado State and Vanderbilt, which will be the first Southeastern Conference team to play at UNLV during the regular season.
