Football To Host Syracuse This Fall In First-Ever Meeting With Orange

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV football will play Syracuse this season at Allegiant Stadium, Director of Athletics Erick Harper announced Tuesday.

The Rebels, under second-year head coach Barry Odom, will host the Orange for the first time ever on October 5 with a kickoff time to be announced.

The fabled program from the ACC will replace the Rebels' game vs. Army (originally scheduled for October 19) after the service academy canceled the long-scheduled series because of recently joining a conference.

"We look forward to hosting Syracuse, which is a national brand rich in tradition," said Harper. "Our 2024 home schedule, which also includes such teams as Boise State and UNR, promises to be very attractive to our fans as we look to continue the tremendous momentum built under Coach Odom last season."

UNLV, which returns two All-American players and National Coach of the Year finalist Odom, is coming off its first nine-win season since 1984, its first bowl trip in a decade and earning the right to serve as host of the 2023 Mountain West Championship Game.

Dates of the four conference opponent games are expected to be announced by the Mountain West in the coming weeks.

Season tickets for the six-game 2024 home schedule, which start at a $150 all-in price, are available now by visiting unlvtickets.com or calling (702) 739-FANS (3267).
