LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Lady Rebels closed out the non-conference slate with an 80-57 victory over UC Riverside on Saturday afternoon at the Thomas & Mack Center. The Scarlet & Gray finished non-conference with an 8-4 record and are ready to begin to defend their Mountain West title in eight days.

Three Lady Rebels scored in double-digits and were led by
Amarachi Kimpson's 13 points. Kimpson shot 4-for-6 from the field, 2-for-3 from behind the arc and was 3-for-4 at the free throw line.
Meadow Roland and
Kenadee Winfrey each added 12 points apiece. Roland led UNLV in rebounds with seven, while
Alyssa Brown brought down six rebounds, respectively.
Kiara Jackson dished a team-lead five assists.

The Highlanders (6-6) were led by Makayla Rose who had 11 points, while Shelley Duchemin added 10 points. Esther Matarranz was the leading rebounder for UCR with 10.

CONTROLLED FROM THE START: After the Lady Rebels won the jump, Kimpson and Brown put-up back-to-back buckets to take a 4-0 lead. Although the Highlanders scored four straight points to tie it up, the Scarlet & Gray scored seven consecutive points to control an 11-4 lead. UNLV closed out the first quarter with a six-point scoring run to head into the second quarter with a 19-9 lead. The momentum continued in the next 10 minutes as the Lady Rebels hit three consecutive three-pointers to increase the advantage to 19, 32-13. With less than 30 seconds until the break, Winfrey drained a bucket to make it 42-26 going into half. The Lady Rebels then continued to stay hot and did not let up the rest of the way.

- The Lady Rebels held the Highlanders to only 18.2% shooting from the field in the first quarter and 20.0% shooting from the field during the third quarter.
- UNLV out-shot UCR 47.5% (29 of 61) to 34.5% (19 of 55).
- The Scarlet & Gray dished 22 assists compared to the Highlanders' seven assists.
- The Lady Rebels continued to dominate the paint and scored 30 of their 80 points in the paint.
- UNLV's bench outscored UCR's bench 44-19.
- The Lady Rebels forced 11 Highlander turnovers and scored 15 points off them.
- UNLV out-rebounded UCR 40-31
