BOISE, Idaho (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV softball team battled through eight innings against Boise State in game six of the Mountain West Softball Championship at Huber Field at Dona Larsen Park, but fell 5-4.

The Rebels (31-19) and Broncos (35-22) went back and forth through the first three innings of play and were tied 4-all heading into the fourth inning. The Scarlet & Gray took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but Boise State tied the game in the top of the second 1-all. The Rebels then took a 2-1 lead in the bottom half of the second, but the Broncos took the lead back 4-2 in the third.
Alyssa Trejo roped a two-run shot that tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning 4-4. The next three innings were scoreless by both sides and in the eighth inning, the Broncos scored the go-ahead run and held the Rebels to capture the win.

THE TURNING POINT: After playing seven innings and being tied 4-4, the Rebels and Broncos headed into the eighth. In the top of the eighth inning, Boise State scored the go-ahead run on a sac fly to take a 5-4 lead. The Broncos then retired the Rebels in order in the bottom of the eighth to hold onto the win and advance.

OTHER NOTES:
- Alyssa Trejo and Ellie Zellien were named to the MW All-Tournament team.
- Zellien pitched her 11th complete game of the season.
- Ariana Martinez was 1-for-2 and an RBI against the Broncos.
- Through the tournament, Trejo was 2-for-5 including a two-run home run and a walk. She had a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.
