Baseball Fights Back-And-Forth Battle Against Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. (UNLVrebels.com) – Coming off of the tough game on Friday, the UNLV baseball team (25-24, 11-18 MW) aimed to claim revenge on the Fresno State Bulldogs (29-21, 16-10) in game two of their three-game set on Saturday afternoon. The two teams would trade blow-for-blow in the battle, but the Bulldogs struck last to capture the game on a 4-3 final score.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- JP Hefft kicked off the game with a double to left center, opening the game with the first hit in the first at bat. Austin Kryszczuk later drove him home for an RBI single down the left-field line, picking up a quick lead in the first inning.
- The Rebels' lead didn't last long before the Bulldogs bounced back, a one-out double driving in two quick runs.
- Chase Ditmar would tie the game back up at two runs each in the top of the fourth inning, a sacrifice fly driving home Kryszczuk after he singled to lead off the inning.
- Fresno State would claim back advantage off an RBI-double in the bottom of the fifth inning.
- After stranding a baserunner in the top of the sixth, the Scarlet & Gray tied the game back off in the top of the seventh with a two-out RBI single, his hit to right field giving Ditmar enough time to reach home plate and slide across the plate safely.
- Bailey Seeger would aim to claim a late lead in the top of the ninth inning, the senior catcher doubling to left field with one out but wouldn't move the final 180 feet before the end of the inning.
- Fresno State would open the bottom of the ninth inning with a walk-off home run.
