Runnin' Rebels Fall At Colorado State Saturday Afternoon

Jaden Henley and Dedan Thomas Jr. each scored 19 points in 84-62 loss.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team (9-7, 3-2) lost to Colorado State (10-6, 4-1), 84-62, on Saturday afternoon at Moby Arena.

Jaden Henley and Dedan Thomas Jr. each scored 19 points for the Runnin' Rebels. 

The Rams had five players score in double figures, led by Nique Clifford and Rashaan Mbemba who each scored 22 points.

STAT OF THE GAME: Colorado State shot 65.4% from the field in the first half (17 of 26), including 66.7% on 3-pointers (8 of 12) to take an 11-point lead at the half (46-35).

TURNING POINT: UNLV trimmed its deficit to just six points at 58-52 with 10 minutes to go, but CSU pushed its lead to 19 points with 5:38 left.

OTHER NOTES: 
- Henley made 4 of 7 3-pointers and Thomas Jr. recorded six assists.
- Jailen Bedford had a game- and season-high eight rebounds with two steals.
- Clifford shot 7 of 11 from the field, including 4 of 5 on 3-pointers, also adding seven assists and four steals.
- Mbemba shot 8 of 9 from the field.
- CSU made seven more 3-pointers than UNLV (12-5) and had seven more rebounds (35-28).
- CSU recorded 24 assists on 30 made shots.
- UNLV only committed 10 turnovers.
- UNLV shot 53.6% (15 of 28) in the first half but just 31.3% (10 of 32) and 1 of 8 on 3-pointers in the second half.
- CSU shot 56.6% (30 of 53) for the game, including 50% on 3-pointers (12 of 24).
- UNLV entered the game having won four of its last five games and five of seven, but suffered its second straight road loss in Mountain West play. 
- UNLV still leads the all-time series with CSU 45-22.
- UNLV has made at least one 3-pointer in a NCAA-record 1,243 straight games.
