LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV's
Anthony Colandrea added to his impressive list of honors this fall by being one of 36 quarterbacks named to the Davey O'Brien Award Class of 2025.
Â
The Davey O'Brien Foundation unveiled the list Thursday with the three dozen players now officially in contention for the 2025 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award.
Â
Earlier this season, Colandrea became the first UNLV quarterback to earn three Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week awards over a career and was named to the Manning Award Watch List in mid-October. Through seven games, the junior sits 32nd in the nation with a 66.8-percent pass completion mark and 29th in passing efficiency. He has thrown for 1,618 yards with 12 touchdowns against just four interceptions. The former Virginia transfer is also second on the team with a career-high 410 net rush yards, including four more touchdowns. His 86-yard scoring pass to
DaeDae Reynolds in a win over Air Force was third-longest in Rebel history while his 361 overall passing yards vs. the Falcons were the most by a UNLV signal-caller since 2018.

Â
The list of semifinalists selected from the QB Class will be named on November 12. The Foundation will announce the three finalists two weeks later and the 2025 Davey O'Brien Award winner will be unveiled live on ESPN on December 12 during The Home Depot College Football Awards. The Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award is presented annually to the nation's best college quarterback and is the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award. The 49th Annual Davey O'Brien Awards Dinner honoring the winner will be held Feb. 16, 2026, at The Fort Worth Club in Texas.
