Ilia Snitari remained undefeated as a collegian and earned All-America status with his second-round win Wednesday at the NCAA Division I Singles Championship being staged at the USTA National Campus.
Ranked 83rd, Snitari improved to 12-0 this fall and 20-0 as a Rebel by ousting
Eli Stephenson of Kentucky, who was seeded 9-16, in three sets, 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-3. The sophomore from Moldova moves into the Round of 16 at the national event after becoming the sixth All-American in program history and first since Rebel
Thomas Schneiter won his first two rounds in 2002.
Snitari will next face eighth-seeded
Ozan Baris of Michigan State, who was a 6-2, 7-5 winner in his second round match. That contest will take place on Thursday. Live scoring of the tournament is available
