LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program opens its 2025-26 season at UNR's Silver State Invitational & Combined Event, which will take place at UNR's new Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
The Rebels will send 20 student-athletes to the event with five participating in long distance events (800m, 3000m, 5000m), three scheduled to compete in the shot put and weight throw), while the remaining 12 will compete in sprints.
UNLV will be led by seniors sprinters Jayda Bushay (200m) and Mikah Scott (60m), with the former returning for her senior season, while the latter competing in her first season with the Scarlet & Gray after transferring from Kansas State. In the shot put, sophomore Lauryn Williams will compete in the first of two flights, while newcomer Amaya Mitchell-Howard will compete in the weight throw. Sophomore Juliana Roberson returns for the Rebels in the long jump and triple jump.
The Rebels will also have key returners Sadia Green (200m), Malika Mashack (300m), Kaitlynn Webbe (300m) and Claire Rands (1 Mile Run) running in the Silver State.
Making their first appearances for the Scarlet & Gray will be Taryn Bailey, Jada Go Forth, Amaya Mitchell-Howard, Angelina Vasquez, Aly Winston and Jaci Wright.
