Runnin' Rebels Beat UNR Decisively, 68-55

Jaden Henley recorded a career-high in scoring for the second straight game with 23 points as UNLV held a plus-21 rebound differential Friday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team (16-13, 10-8) recorded a decisive 68-55 win over UNR (16-13, 8-10) Friday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The game was part of the Silver State Series, presented by America First Credit Union.

Jaden Henley had his second straight game with a career high in scoring, besting his 22-point outing at San Jose State on Tuesday with 23 points against the Wolf Pack. Three other Runnin' Rebel players scored in double figures: Jalen Hill with 16 points, Julian Rishwain with 11 and Bear Cherry with 10.

UNR was led by Kobe Sanders' 30 points, while Justin McBride added 12.

STAT OF THE GAME: UNLV held a plus-21 rebound differential as it recorded a season-high 48 boards to the Wolf Pack's 27. UNLV grabbed 14 on the offensive end that led to 19 points.

NEARLY A RECORD: UNLV shot 20 of 21 from the free-throw line (95.2%). The program record for FT% in a game is 96.2% (25 of 26) vs. UC Irvine in 1988.

TURNING POINT: UNLV turned a 20-19 lead with 7:30 to go in the first half into a 31-21 advantage with under 2 minutes to play until the break, thanks to a 11-2 run. UNLV led by double digits for the final nine minutes of the game, increasing its lead to as many as 16 with just under three minutes to go.

OTHER NOTES: 
- UNLV split the regular-season series with UNR and ended its three-game losing streak to the Wolf Pack.
- This was the 101st all-time meeting between UNLV and UNR in men's basketball with the Runnin' Rebels improving their all-time record against the Wolf Pack to 65-36 and 36-14 at home.
- Henley also had eight rebounds, was 8 of 14 from the field, made two 3-pointers and was a perfect 5 of 5 at the free-throw line. He also added three assists and a block.
- Bedford grabbed a season-high and team-leading 11 rebounds, while Cherry had nine and Hill collected eight.
- Hill was 10 of 11 from the free-throw line.
- Nick Davidson led UNR in rebounding with eight.
- UNLV held UNR to 33.9% from the field (20 of 59) and 14.3% on 3-pointers (3 of 21).
- UNLV led in bench scoring 14-6.
- The game had nine lead changes and two ties.
- UNLV held a 34-26 halftime lead, improving to 16-2 when holding the advantage at the break.
- Dedan Thomas Jr. missed his third consecutive game because of injury.
- UNLV has made at least one 3-pointer in a NCAA-record 1,256 straight games.
