2025-26 Men's Basketball Non-Conference Schedule Announced

Runnin' Rebels to face seven teams that finished last season among the top 100 in the NET Rankings and at least seven teams that played in the 2025 postseason before league play begins.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Athletics announced the non-conference portion of its 2025-26 men's basketball schedule Monday.

The slate spans Nov. 4 through Dec. 29 and features 11 contests, including five at the Thomas & Mack Center, three at MGM Grand Garden Arena on the Strip in Las Vegas, one in nearby Henderson, and two true road games. The Runnin' Rebels will also play two exhibition games in October, one on the road and one at home.

UNLV will face seven teams that appeared in the postseason last year before Mountain West play begins, including four that played in the NCAA Tournament. In addition, seven of the 10 Division I opponents on the schedule were ranked among the top 100 in the NET Rankings at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

"We are extremely excited about this non-conference schedule," head coach Josh Pastner said. "We believe in challenging our team to get ready for the grind of the Mountain West, and this schedule will do exactly that. We have top programs on the slate and will be a tremendous opportunity for our guys to compete at the highest level. We look forward to our incredible fans creating an electric atmosphere at the Thomas & Mack Center and all over the city. We will feed off that energy and can't wait to get to the start of the season."

After an exhibition game at Washington in Seattle on Sunday, Oct. 19, and another at the Thomas & Mack Center against Lincoln University on Tuesday, Oct. 28, the 2025-26 Runnin' Rebel regular-season campaign will begin with three straight home games, starting with the season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 4, against UT Martin. Chattanooga is up next with a visit on Saturday, Nov. 8, and the homestand will conclude against Montana on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Chattanooga is coming off a championship season as it went 29-9 overall in 2024-25, won the Southern Conference title with a 15-3 league mark, and captured the title of the National Invitation Tournament. Montana also won multiple championships last season, going 25-10 overall, winning the Big Sky's regular-season title with a 15-3 league mark, and capturing the league's tournament crown to receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

UNLV will head out of town for the first time, traveling to Memphis for a game on Sunday, Nov. 16, at the FedEx Forum. It will be a return game as Memphis appeared at the Thomas & Mack Center last season. The Tigers went on to win both the regular season and tournament championships of the American Conference. Memphis went 29-6 overall and 16-2 in league play, also making a NCAA Tournament showing.

The Runnin' Rebels will return to campus to host St. Joseph's on Thursday, Nov. 20, before heading about a mile west to play in the prestigious Players Era Men's Championship. St. Joseph's went 22-13 overall last season, including 11-7 in the Atlantic 10, and made a NIT appearance.

UNLV will open up the Players Era Men's Championship on Monday, Nov. 24 against Maryland at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, then face Alabama the following day on Tuesday, Nov. 25, and conclude the event with an opponent to be determined on either Wednesday, Nov. 26 or Thursday, Nov. 27. Maryland went 27-9 overall last season and finished second in the Big 10 with a 14-6 league record. The Terapins made it to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 where they lost to No. 1-seeded Florida. Alabama went 28-9 overall and finished third in the Southeastern Conference with a 13-5 record, advancing as far as the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament, where the Crimson Tide fell to Duke.

UNLV will travel to Palo Alto, California, to play at Stanford on Sunday, Dec. 7, for its final true road game of non-conference play. The Cardinal finished last season in the top half of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Stanford ended up winning 21 games and advanced to the second round of the NIT.

UNLV will then face Tennessee State as part of the Jack Jones Classic at Lee's Family Forum in Henderson, Nevada, on Saturday, Dec. 13, and conclude the non-conference schedule against La Sierra University on Monday, Dec. 29.

UNLV's Mountain West schedule, which is expected to begin on Saturday, Dec. 20, has not been announced yet. All game times and television appearances will also be announced at a later date.
