LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's basketball junior Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn has been named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.

Gibbs-Lawhorn has earned the recognition for the third time this season, while it's also the men's basketball team's fourth of the year.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.

A native of Lafayette, Indiana, Gibbs-Lawhorn averaged 30 points, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in wins over San Jose State and Boise State.

In Friday's comeback win at Boise State, Gibbs-Lawhorn scored a career-high 36 points, with three rebounds and two steals as UNLV overcame a 23-point deficit. He  posted 25 second-half points, outscoring the Broncos 22-19 in the final 11:25 of regulation and making the game-tying 3-pointer with 38 seconds left.

In Tuesday's win over SJSU, Gibbs-Lawhorn played all 40 minutes and scored a game-high 24 points with five assists, four rebounds and three steals. He went 10-of-19 from the field, including 4-of-8 on 3-pointers.

Additionally, Gibbs-Lawhorn was also named the Mountain West Player of the Week.
