LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV baseball redshirt senior third baseman
Drew Barragan has been named to the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award Midseason Watch List, it was announced on Monday.
The BBNCSA, created by the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation, was open to nominations from all Division I baseball programs in the country. The award is based on performance at the plate, academics and personal integrity.
Along with Barragan, Western Michigan's Tanner Malley, Cole Hanson of California Baptist, Teddy Tokhiem of Stanford, Tague Davis of Louisville, Daniel Jackson and Tre Phelps of Georgia and Will Gasparino of UCLA were added to the list.
Barragan is tied for fourth in the nation with a 40-game on-base streak dating back to his junior season at Western Kentucky in 2025. The Trabuco Canyon, California sits in the top 15 in Division I baseball in five offense categories, including second in triples (6), 10th in hits per game (1.64), 11th in runs per game (1.33) and 12th in hits (64) and 13th in batting average (.408). Barragan ranks second in the Mountain West in RBI (43) and leads the conference in both slugging percentage (.720) and total bases (113). Additionally, he sits 16th in the nation in runs (52).
Barragan has started all 39 games he has played in with 22 starts at third base, 12 at designated hitter and five at shortstop. Delving deeper, he has tallied team-highs in OPS (1.215), at-bats (157) and is tied for first in home runs (8). The veteran has a base hit in 33 of his 39 games with 21 multi-hit games, eight games on three or more hits and a pair of four-hit games.
With the addition of the seven players, the BBCSA Watch List is now up to 53 hitters for the 2026 season. The BBNCSA will name the finalists for this year's award later next month. The winner of the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award will be announced in June and honored at a gala in the fall.
