Barnes hit a single to left field bringing in a run to put UNLV on the board first, 1-0. Hatzenbeller then sent the first pitch she saw straight over the center field wall to give the Rebels a 4-0 lead. Both squads were held off the board in the fourth inning and in the top of the fifth inning the Wolf Pack hit a solo homer to left and made it 4-1. In the top of the sixth inning, UNR cut the deficit in half, 4-2, after scoring on a fielder's choice to second. In the top of the seventh inning, Sherwood and the Rebels retired the Wolf Pack in order to secure the series.
