RENO, Nev. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV softball team fell 5-0 against New Mexico in game six of the Mountain West Championship at Christina M. Hixson Softball Park on Friday.

The Rebels (31-22) were led at the plate by
Presley Barnes who was 2-for-3 against the Lobos (28-26). Both of Barnes' hits were leadoff doubles.
Natalie Turner also had a hit on the day, while
Diamond Sefe had the team's lone walk.

HOW IT WENT DOWN: The Lobos struck first in the top of the first inning on a solo homer to left, 1-0. In the top of the second inning, New Mexico went up 2-0 after a home run to center. The next two innings were scoreless. In the top of the fifth, the Lobos added another run on an infield single, 3-0. New Mexico tallied two more runs in the top half of the sixth on a triple down the right field line. In the bottom half of the seventh, the Rebels had a runner on, but was retired on a double play and a ground ball to second.

OTHER NOTES:
- Presley Barnes and Natalie Turner were named to the MW All-Tournament team.
- Turner and Gwyn Burnett each had a stolen base against the Lobos.
- Through the tournament, Turner was 3-for-5 (.600) including a home run, walk and was hit by a pitch. She also was a perfect 2-for-2 on the base path in stolen bases. Turner had a 1.200 slugging percentage and a .714 through two games.
- Barnes was 4-for-7 (.571) through the tournament. She had a team-high two doubles and one RBI.
- Bri Williams had a team-high two RBI through the tournament.
- Lauren Fettic, Yanina Sherwood and Emma Wardlaw each made a tournament appearance.
