Garritano Adds Gidge To Coaching Staff

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV baseball head coach Nick Garritano announced the hiring of Bryan Gidge as an Assistant Coach/Pitching Coach.

Gidge joins the Rebels after serving on Garritano's staff at the College of Southern Nevada since the beginning of his tenure in 2011. A longtime educator and coach in Southern Nevada, Gidge has worked alongside Garritano since 2002 and has been instrumental in the development of numerous student-athletes throughout his coaching career.

Gidge was an educator in the Clark County School District for 17 years, where he brought extensive experience both on and off the field. He earned his bachelor's degree in fitness management from UNLV and later received a master's degree in teaching from Grand Canyon University.

As a player, Gidge spent two seasons at Yakima Valley Community College before transferring to UNLV, where he pitched for the Hustlin' Rebels during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. He was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 33rd round of the 1998 MLB Draft. A native of Yakima, Washington, Gidge and his wife, Jenny, have two daughters, Mckenzie and Averi.
