LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings announced their NCAA DI All-Region Teams for the 2026 season, highlighting each of the eight regions. The Hustlin' Rebels made their way into the ranks with a nod to redshirt senior Drew Barragan, the Trabuco Canyon California native being tabbed as one of two shortstops represented on the West All-Region Second Team list.
The All-Region teams are voted on by ABCA member head coaches in the West Region, which includes schools in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
Barragan joins the prestigious list after he started all 53 games he competed with 22 starts at third base, 19 starts at shortstop and 12 more at designated hitter. Additionally, Barragan reached base in all 53 games he played in this season and ended his career with an on-base streak of 54 games dating back to his time at Western Kentucky in the 2025 campaign. He had two 10+ game hitting streaks and 23 multi-hit games in 2026.
Through Barragan's first 28 games, he led the nation in hits (53) and triples (6). Barragan recorded team-highs in batting average (.374), OPS (1.147), at-bats (189), hits (79), triples (6), home runs (13), RBI (60), total bases (145) and slugging percentage (.687. Nationally speaking, Barragan is tied for 11th in the nation in triples and tied for 15th in triples per game (0.11).
The ABCA All-America Team was first recognized in 1949 and now spans nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II, and III, the Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
