FULLERTON, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's soccer team (1-4-1) was overcome by Cal State Fullerton's scoring surge, dropping its match to the Titans, 6-1, Thursday night at Titan Stadium.
The Rebels avoided the shutout when fifth-year forward
Kaitlin Taylor netted her third goal of the season in the 66th minute against her former team. Her score cut the deficit to three before the Titans put the match out of reach with two more late goals.
STAT OF THE GAME: Each team reached double digits in shot attempts, as the Rebels notched 11 targets and were outshot by just four with the Titans' 15-shot tally. In the shots-on-goal category, however, the Scarlet & Gray saw its count more than doubled by Cal State Fullerton, 9-4.
UP NEXT: UNLV will wrap up its season-long four-match road trip with a visit to CSUN for Sunday's 7 p.m. PT kickoff.
NOTES:
With 11 shots in the contest, the Rebels fired at least six total shot attempts for the sixth straight match.
