UNLV: One of nine Rebels returning for a Super Senior season this fall … A sometimes dominant force in the middle, he is a three-year returning starter on the defensive line … Last name is pronounced “WAH-skay.” 

2020: Played in all six games, starting five of them … Totaled 17 tackles … Both of his sacks came in the season finale at Hawai'i for a loss of eight yards. 

2019: Started in 11 of 12 games … Finished 10th on the team with 26 total tackles, including 1.5 TFL … Recovered a fumble vs. Boise State … Sealed the home-finale victory over San Jose State when he grabbed a tipped pass out of the air for his first career interception … The pick, which came at his team’s four-yard line,  was the fourth of the day by Spartan All-MW QB Josh Love and prevented SJSU from either winning the game or settling for a short, game-tying field goal … The following week at UNR, Uasike turned in a career-best five tackles to help UNLV down the Wolf Pack in overtime. 

2018: Played in all 12 games, including making his first six starts … Finished with 24 total tackles, including two TFL and one sack. 

2017: Earned his first letter as a Rebel by playing in six games … Totaled four tackles, including one-half TFL … A late addition to the 2017 class, he signed his NLI in late May after graduating high school and saw playing time as a freshman. 

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner at Skyline HS under coach Angelo Paffumi … Named regional defensive MVP and First Team 2016 24-7Football.com All-6A … Posted 150 tackles and 15 sacks in his varsity football career … Ranked the No. 8 DL in the state as a junior by the Arizona Republic … Also a dominant wrestler for the Coyotes, he went 27-0 with all pins on his way to being the 6A Conference state champion. 

PERSONAL: Kolo Kakala Uasike is the son of Billy and Masi Uasike … Has two brothers, Masi and Billy Jr., and three sisters, Losaline, Taina and Pakose … Majoring in criminal justice.
