UNLV: One of the highest rated signees in program history, “Vegas Vic” returns again as one of nine Super Seniors on the Rebels this fall … A 2018 JC Athletic Bureau – CCCFCA First Team All-American at linebacker who signed with UNLV over offers from schools such as TCU, Baylor, Ole Miss, Missouri and Nebraska … A midyear signee, he competed in spring practice at UNLV in 2019 … Originally signed with Cal as a quarterback out of high school, then transferred to junior college and played quarterback, signed with Minnesota but eventually came back to the same JC and switched to linebacker in 2018 under former San Diego State head coach Tom Craft … A member of the UNLV Dean’s Honor List in fall 2020 and spring '21 … An Academic All-Mountain West honoree in 2019 and '20. 

2020: Played in all six games, starting five … Finished fifth on the team with 31 total tackles … Added two pass breakups … Had a career-high seven tackles in two games (UNR and SJSU). 

2019: Earned his first letter as a Rebel by playing in nine games, including starting at Northwestern … Finished with 20 total tackles, including a TFL … Best outing came vs. Wyoming when he posted five unassisted takedowns. 

JUNIOR COLLEGE: In his first season at Riverside City College in 2017, the dual-threat quarterback threw for 2,100 yards and 27 touchdowns to go along with 1,868 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns ... Signed with Minnesota after 2017 season, but returned to RCC and played the 2018 season for the Tigers … Switched to linebacker as a sophomore and collected 66 tackles (37 solo) with 1.5 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. CAL: Redshirted the 2016 season at the Pac-12 school where he was a teammate of current Rebel quarterback Max Gilliam. 

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2016 graduate of Norco HS … A four-year letterwinner at quarterback for the Cougars under coach Chuck Chastain … A three-star recruit as a QB out of high school … In three seasons as a starter, recorded a total of 8,870 yards (passing and running combined), including 4,680 passing yards with 95 touchdowns and 4,190 rushing yards and 53 scores on the ground … Earned all-league honors three times during his career and was a first team all-state selection as a senior in 2015. 

PERSONAL: Victor “Vic” Anthony Viramontes was born in Riverside, CA … The son of Victor and Kristy Viramontes … Has an older sister, Kerisa, and a younger brother, Anthony … Cousin, Jordan Campbell, played linebacker at USC and went on to the play in the NFL with stints for Cincinnati and Kansas City … A fall 2020 graduate in urban studies who is pursuing a second bachelor's degree in sociology.
