UNLV: A top student who has earned Academic All-MW, MW Scholar-Athlete and ITA Scholar-Athlete honors every season eligible during her career ... One half of one of the nation's top doubles teams returns for her senior season ... Also expected to play No. 2 singles for the Rebels ... She and teammate Izumi Asano earned the program's highest doubles ranking since 2007 when they moved to No. 13 on Feb. 5, 2020 ... Duo entered the spring ranked No. 28 in the nation after a big fall season that saw them bring UNLV its first ITA regional doubles championship ... The duo, which was unranked in the preseason, posted a perfect week at the Mountain Regional held at the Fertitta Tennis Complex ... Went 6-0 at the event, knocking off the No. 2 see from AFA and No. 6 seed from Utah before winning the final, 7-5, 6-4, over NAU's Adrianna Sosnowska and Mimi Bland ... The UNLV women had won five ITA regional singles titles but never a doubles crown ... The win earned Huang and Asano a trip to the main draw of the elite Oracle ITA National Fall Championships staged at the Newport Beach Tennis Club in November ... Lost the first round to Oklahoma State's Lisa Rioux and Aymi Miyamoto, 6-2, 6-3, and then dropped a heartbreaker in the consolation round, 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (11-9) to Auburn's Taylor Russo and Selin Ovunc.
2020: Earned 2020 All-Mountain West Conference Team Senior. En-Pei Huang was voted to the singles team for the second consecutive season after going 9-8 overall, including 4-3 in duals at the No. 2 spot in the lineup. Her and her partner Izumi Asano also led the All-Mountain West doubles team as Asano and Huang teamed up for a 15-3 overall record, including a perfect 6-0 in duals. The pair won the program's first-ever ITA Regional Doubles championship in the fall and then rose to as high as No. 13 in the nation before finishing ranked 20th... she also received various academic awards including ITA Scholar-Athlete status, the 2020 Academic All-Mountain West honors and the designation of Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.
2019: Earned All-Mountain West honors in both singles and doubles as a junior ... Twice was named MW Player of the Week, earning the honor on Feb. 13 and April 10 ... Ranked second on the team with a singles mark of 26-9 overall ... Finished 9-3 at No. 3 and 9-2 at No. 4 ... Went 4-1 in MW play in singles and 4-0 in doubles ... Teamed with Aiwen Zhu for a 25-8 doubles mark, including 16-3 at the No. 1 position in duals ... Playing at the third spot, rolled through all three of her singles opponents in straight sets during the MW Tournament to help the Rebels win the team crown in San Diego ... Then downed Anto Stoica, 6-3, 6-3, to help UNLV upset No. 26 Texas Tech in the first round of the NCAA Championships in Los Angeles ... Was tied at 2 in the third set vs. host No. 13 USC in the second round of the NCAAs when the match was halted.
2018: All-MW Doubles honoree as a sophomore along with partner Aiwen Zhu ... Second on the team with a singles record of 24-11 overall ... Went 14-3 at the No. 2 spot in duals ... She and Zhu finished 24-8 in doubles, including 14-5 at the top of the lineup.
2017: One of eight Rebels named Academic All-Mountain West ... Finished with an overall singles record of 15-9, including 15-7 in dual matches at the Nos. 2-6 spots in the lineup ... Named All-MW in doubles along with partner Aiwen Zhu ... Went 9-6 in doubles at the No. 1 position and 13-8 overall.
