UNLV: An experienced collegiate player who returned home to Las Vegas and joined the Rebels as a transfer from BYU … Expected to make a major impact in both singles and doubles during her one season with the Rebels.

2020: After a slow start to the dual season, both for she and the team, Smith and the squad both won four straight matches.Then, the pandemic hit, spring sports were halted and a 4-0 blanking of visiting Youngstown State on February 23 went into the books as the final outcome of the season. Smith finished the season with an overall record of 4-4 in singles... including 4-2 in dual and 0-2 on tour... she finished 2-8 overall in her doubles teams with partners Olivia Elliott (1-7) and Connie Li (5-11). 

BYU: Played her first three seasons of college tennis at the former Mountain West school located in Provo, UT. 2019: Posted a record of 12-14 in singles and 21-12 in doubles … Received West Coast Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll Bronze Honors … Reached the semifinals in the Gold doubles draw at the Cal Fall Invitational … Made it to the round of 16 in singles at the ITA Regionals. 2018: Finished 9-8 in singles and 18-9 in doubles … Competed in No. 3 doubles with teammate Taylah Beckman and earned a 11-4 record in the regular season … Appeared in 13 regular-season singles matches, the majority at the six spot with a 6-4 record … Reached the semifinals of the consolation singles at the Cal Fall Invitational. 2017: As a freshman posted a singles record of 13-9 overall and 14-8 in doubles … Reached the championship match in singles play at the BYU Invitational … Played No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles the majority of the season.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2016 graduate of Coronado HS in Henderson, NV … Played No. 1 for the Cougars and went undefeated en route to winning the 2015 state championship in singles … Ranked top 50 in the nation, No. 1 in the state and No. 3 in the Intermountain Region.
 
PERSONAL: Samantha Smith was born in Long Beach, CA … The daughter of Gregory and Marjie Smith … Has an older brother, Mitch, and two sisters, Gabby and Maddy … Gabby played tennis at USC … Majoring in kinesiology.
