UNLV vs. Wyoming part of Take a Kid to the Game

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Take a Kid to the Game (TAKG), a nationwide program which concurrently runs with the 1998 National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), will come to UNLV as the Lady Rebels host Wyoming in a women?s basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 7:05 p.m.

More than 100 college campuses nationwide are participating in the TAKG program throughout the women's basketball season. Developed as a marketing program, TAKG builds awareness and participation in women's athletics while exposing corporate America to the extremely beneficial sponsorship and marketing opportunities in women's athletics.

The program has evolved into a day to remember the past and recognize current sports achievements by girls and women. Official sponsors for the program include Lifetime Television for Women, Nabisco and Phoenix Home Life Mutual Insurance Company.

As part of the event, children under the age of 18 will be admitted free with a paying adult. There will also be free posters, a youth basketball game, an American Airlines Shootout and UNLV player and coaches' autographs following the game.
