Former SEC player Bailey McElwain joined UNLV in 2020 as a graduate assistant on offense. McElwain spent the 2019 season as safeties coach at East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi. 

The Alabama native earned his bachelor’s degree from UAB in 2019 after transferring from Vanderbilt University. He was the starting fullback for the Commodores in 2016 before an injury moved him to a role as a student assistant coach with Nashville school. 

He also spent the 2018 spring season coaching inside linebackers at his alma mater, Hewitt-Trussville High School, where he was a two-time all-state performer.
