Drake Smithton is one of three new graduate assistants and will join Will Kreitler as one of two on the offensive staff in 2018. Smithton, a wide reciever originally from Woodward, Oklahoma, signed with Oklahoma State out of high school, but transferred to Division II Emporia State University in Kansas before playing a snap for the Cowboys. As a senior in 2015, Smithton caught 20 passes for 203 yards. Smithton graduated from Emporia State with his bachelor’s degree in communications in 2016 and finished his master’s in healthcare administration from OSU in December 2017. While pursuing his master's at Oklahoma State, served as an offensive analyst for the Cowboys' football program.
