Mike Sollenne

UNLV football head coach Dan Mullen dipped into his time as Florida to find his offensive line coach as Mike Sollenne officially joined the Rebel staff on Jan. 3, 2025.

Sollenne (sol-N-ee), who previously served under Mullen for the Gators from 2020-21 as graduate assistant and later as interim offensive line coach, made the move to Las Vegas after spending the past three seasons (2022-24) as an offensive line graduate assistant at Ohio State, which reached the semifinals of the College Football Playoff.

During Sollene’s time in Columbus, the OSU O-line became one of the Big Ten’s best. In 2024, he helped guide a pass blocking unit that stood atop the conference and sat eighth in the country in fewest sacks allowed. Additionally, the Buckeye blockers paved the way for an offense that among the league standings ranked first in average yards per play (6.96), second in passing efficiency, passing yards per attempt and scoring offense, as well as third in total offense this past season.

In 2023, Sollenne was named a member of 247’s 30Under30 list honoring college football’s top young coaches.

Before heading to Gainesville, Sollenne spent time coaching the tight ends at Austin Peay and the 2016-18 seasons at Nassau Community College as offensive line coach and run game coordinator.

A native of Massapequa, New York, Sollenne played offensive tackle at Long Island University Post (2012-15), where he earned All-NE-10 First Team honors as a senior. A National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society member, he was selected to play in the Dream Bowl All-Star game following the 2015 season.

Sollenne graduated from LIU Post with his bachelor’s degree in physical education before going on to earn his master’s in sports management from Florida. He and his wife, Tori, were married in 2021.
