2021: Named UNLV Special Teams MVP at the postseason banquet and Honorable Mention All-Mountain West after turning in a stunningly accurate season … Named one of just 20 Lou Groza Award semifinalists after nailing all but two of his attempts, going 16-of-18 in field goals and finishing perfect in 25 extra-point tries … His 88.8-percent make rate is the second-highest overall and ranks first among UNLV kickers who attempted at least 15 field goals … After being surprised with a full scholarship during camp in August, he started the season off by nailing a career-best four field goals vs. Eastern Washington (including three from 47 yards or longer) en route to a 13-point night vs. the Eagles, which earned him a spot as a Lou Groza Star of the Week … Added one FGM in the next five games before nailing a career-long 53-yarder vs. San Jose State in Game Seven that not only tied for the fifth-longest in school history but also gave him a school record with his 15th consecutive field goal dating back to the previous season, breaking a tie with longtime record-holder Jim Cook, who hit 14 straight in 1987 … Gutierrez stretched his record to 16 with a 30-yarder in the third quarter vs. the Spartans before his streak ended in the fourth quarter when his 40-yard attempt was blocked … His only other miss on the season was also blocked – from 56 yards out vs. Hawai’i in Game 10 … Posted the eighth perfect season in extra points in Rebel history as he finished with a career-high 73 points scored.
2020: Rebounded from missing his first field goal and extra-point attempt in the season opener at San Diego State to make the all 16 of his remaining attempts on the year as a junior … Finished 5-of-6 in field goals and 11-of-12 in extra points … Nailed both of his field-goal attempts vs. both UNR and Fresno State … Named Fourth Team Preseason All-Mountain West by Phil Steele’s.Â
2019: Earned the team’s starting job as kicker and responded by leading the Rebels in scoring with 68 points … Kicked off for the Rebels and also made 11 of his 14 field-goal attempts and 35 of his 36 extra-point tries … Made 8-of-9 FGA on the road as a junior, including nailing both attempts in three different away games (at Vanderbilt, Fresno State and UNR) … Scored 10 of team’s 34 points in a victory at Vanderbilt … Did not miss from under 38 yards (5-5) and from 44 yards or longer (3-3) … Brushing off the coldest conditions in series history, he helped UNLV win season finale at UNR in thrilling overtime fashion with nine total points, including a 40-yard field goal in the first quarter and then a career-long 50-yarder in the fourth … Made a career-high eight extra points in season-opening win over Southern Utah.Â
2018:Â Attempted one field goal against Prairie View A&M from 49 yards out and kicked off four times as a sophomore.Â
2017: Earned his first letter as a Rebel by appearing in all 12 games … Finished fourth on the team with 25 points scored … Made five of his six field-goal attempts and 10 of his 11 extra-point tries while spelling injured starter Evan Pantels … Named the Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week October 30 after tying for fifth in school single-game history with 14 total points scored in UNLV’s 26-16 upset victory at first-place Fresno State … Tied an overall school record and set a UNLV freshman record by making four field goals in one game, hit both of his extra-point attempts and also kicked off seven times against the Bulldogs … His three first-half field goals (38, 27 and 23 yards) helped UNLV go into halftime tied at 9 while his final kick, a 25-yarder with five minutes remaining, gave the Rebels their biggest lead of the evening … Also punted twice for 91 yards (45.5 average) with a long of 52 at Ohio State following Pantels being knocked out of the game ... One of 26 Rebels named 2017 Academic All-Mountain West.Â
