Diamond Simmons

Diamond Simmons joined UNLV Athletics in 2020 as the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Rebel football program.

Simmons came to Las Vegas after spending the previous season as Assistant Athletics Performance Coach at the University of Missouri. During the 2018-19 academic year, he served as Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Morehead State University in Kentucky working with the Eagles’ men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, track, rifle and football teams.

He was the Head Strength Coach at Florence High School in Alabama for one year after getting his start as an intern in the University of Georgia strength program.

Simmons played football at the University of North Alabama from 2012-15, including competing at running back for three consecutive conference champion squads. He earned his bachelor’s degree in health, exercise and physical education from UNA in 2017 and began his master’s work at Morehead State.
