UNLV head coach Dan Mullen announced the hiring of Jon Clark as the program’s new Director of Football Operations on Jan. 9, 2025.
A veteran administrator who has now worked with Mullen at four different programs, Clark came to Las Vegas after spending the previous two seasons as Assistant Athletic Director/Chief of Staff for South Alabama football.
He arrived in Mobile after some time in private business and a pair of stints at Florida and one at Mississippi State, all with Mullen. For four seasons (2018-21), Clark served as Assistant Athletic Director of Football Operations at UF while the Gators went to the Peach Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl and Gasparilla Bowl along with the 2020 SEC Championship during his tenure.
From 2010-17, Clark served with the same title at Mississippi State as the Bulldogs qualified for eight bowl games. His first stop in Gainesville ran from the 2005-09 seasons as the Gators’ Director of Football Administration as UF won a pair of BCS National Championships.
Prior to moving to the SEC, Clark served as administrative assistant at Utah while the Utes were members of the Mountain West in 2003-04. He first worked with Mullen as a student manager at Bowling Green where Clark earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary education.
