Brandon Jenkins is in his second year as program assistant for UNLV men's basketball.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and playing experience with him to Las Vegas as he played for four years at Louisville under Hall of Fame Coach Rick Pitino from 2003-07.
He was a member of the 2005 NCAA Final Four team, which also won that year's Conference USA title.
Jenkins was the 2007 Big East Sportsmanship Award winner.
Following a successful collegiate playing career, he took his talents overseas where he played for nine seasons.
He was a member of the following teams, stating at point guard for all first division teams: Germany Lich (2007-08), Cyprus Omonia (2008-10), Cyprus Aek (Larnaca) (2010-11), Switzerland Starwings (Basel) (2011-13), Kosovo RTV21 (2013-14), Switzerland Boncourt (2014-2015), New Zealand Manawatu Jets (Palmerston North) (2014-15) and Slovakia Svit (2016).
In between playing and coming to UNLV, he spent time as a player development coach.
Extremely active in community service, Jenkins has spent years volunteering at Jermaine Jackson Community Center in his home state of Michigan.
He has also helped coach basketball at Chandler Park Academy High School in Harper Woods, Mich., and Edwin Denby High School in Detroit.
While with the New Zealand Jets, Jenkins participated in literacy programs in local elementary schools and served as the spokesperson empowering youth about the importance of education. He also spent time visiting children in the hospital.
Jenkins earned his bachelor's degree in sports administration at Louisville in 2007. His cousin is former NBA player Jermaine Jackson.
